Counseling

Counseling

Grief is a completely normal response to serious illness and loss. Every person handles these challenges in his or her own unique way. Grief can have a profound effect on an individual’s psychological and physical well-being.

Sacred Journey Hospice offers a wide range of individual and group services and therapies designed to help each person through his or her own journey of grief. Our counseling services are provided by experienced professionals who understand what you are going through and can help you cope with the emotional, social, spiritual, and financial stresses associated with life-limiting illnesses and the loss of a loved one.

Bereavement Care

Sacred Journey Hospice’s bereavement staff provides individual as well as group bereavement support programs. Our Grief Recovery Program is a part of our ongoing Grief Support Group and consists of weekly meetings for 12 weeks. We also hold a biannual memorial service to remember and honor those we have lost.

Spiritual Care

Sacred Journey Hospice offers spiritual care for patients and families facilitated by hospice staff and trained volunteer chaplains. Spiritual interventions offered include counseling, prayer, sacred writings, communion and sacrament, and spiritual companionship. Staff chaplains are also available to assist families with funeral arrangements.
